My Story
For the past 20 years, I have been working in large, leading multinationals across 3 continents in roles of increasing scope and responsibility. I started as a graduate and reached VP, Regional and Global Director levels for the likes of Nielsen, Estee Lauder and BAT. I possess a deep understanding of the multi-cultural, matrixed corporate environment and how to navigate it.
My main job was "Insights & Analytics" or in other words: asking powerful questions, deeply listening to the answers and influencing the senior leaders of the organisation with strategic, creative and commercial recommendations. I worked on countless new product launches and quite a few brands' births.
Amidst all these creative & collaborative pursuits, I saw first hand how the environment a leader sets can make or break the spirit of the team: by either fostering an innovative, challenger spirit or by stifling or worse crushing it. This would often determine how successful that team became.
For the last 10 years, I also found myself either deeply involved leading ERGs (Employee Resource Groups = voluntary, employee-led diversity and inclusion affinity groups formally supported by an organisation) or mentoring for organisations like Wire (Women In Research) or TWF (The Women's Foundation).
All while growing a family of 5, in a dual career couple. Needless to say, I am no stranger to frequent change, big transitions, challenging roles and environments.
I became increasingly passionate about creating the conditions in which creativity and collaboration are unleashed, teams thrive, and individuals uniquely develop. Coaching leveraged my natural ability to question, listen, uncover insights and influence others to act on the insights, and felt like a great fit. So I decided to retrain as an executive coach in 2021, and left my corporate job to focus on supporting teams and individuals to thrive.
I am a certified Professional Executive Coach by the Henley Business School, one of the only triple accredited coaching programs in the UK. This means I didn't get my coaching qualification for $7 online and a 1 day workshop! Think more in the £10,000's and a year worth of studying, countless books read and visits to the library, and many, practical, supervised hours of practice, which I continue to regularly engage in.
I am also a member of the ICF (International Coaching Federation), a certified trainer with the ERG Leadership Alliance, and soon to be certified Positive Intelligence Coach. This means I use evidence-based, effective tools together with ethical approaches. It also means my coaching is held accountable to the highest international standards of coaching.
