What's Mental Fitness?

If you are physically fit, you can climb steep hills without physical stress.  If you are mentally fit, you can handle life’s challenges without mental stress or other negative emotions.

Mental fitness asks you to develop stronger mental muscles so you grow your resilience, creativity, and performance in the midst of tremendous change, setbacks and challenges.

How do you measure Mental Fitness?

Mental fitness measures your your capacity to RESPOND to life’s challenges productively and creatively vs. REACTING to them emotionally and negatively.

In other words, mental fitness measures the strength of your positive mental muscles (Sage/prefrontal cortex) versus the negative ones (Saboteur/limbic (survival) brain).

This measure of your mental fitness is called PQ (Positive Intelligence Quotient). Research with 500,000 participants has shown PQ to be the best predictor of how much you thrive and how well you perform relative to your potential.

If you score below 75, your mental fitness indicates room for improvement

What results can you expect when you increase your Mental Fitness?

What if you could see your brain changing as a result of Mind Fitness exercise? You can!  MRI imaging shows the following in research subjects after the 8 weeks program:

  • INCREASED gray matter in the part of executive-functions of the brain where your Sage lives

  • DECREASED gray matter in the “survivor” brain – the part where your Saboteurs live

This leads to

  • Dramatic productivity improvements:  with less effort

  • Better relationships and Team outcomes

  • Resilience:  a clear, calm mind that is happier

What are Saboteurs?

Saboteurs are the voices in your head that generate negative emotions in the way you handle life’s everyday challenges. They represent automated patterns in your mind for how to think, feel, and respond. They cause all of your stress, anxiety, self-doubt, frustration, restlessness, and unhappiness. They sabotage your performance, wellbeing, and relationships.

And yes, we all have them. The key is how much space and time we give them, learning how to spot we're self sabotaging, and building the muscles to re-wire our thoughts to a wiser, better way to respond.

We typically develop 2-3 saboteurs that formulate many of our habitual negative thought patterns

How does it work?

This is a 8-week program, preferably Group based. Each group is kept small (~5 max) and is proven to drive accountability and integration of the learnings.

How it works: Every participant downloads the PQ app which is the portal to the program contents. The app contains:

  • Weekly Videos (Modules): Every week, about 1 hour of fresh content is unlocked.

  • The Daily Focus: Every day you have to consume 4 x 2-minute videos to practice the weekly learning

  • The PQ Gym: contains exercises of 2 to 12 minutes to strengthen your "mental fitness muscles"

  • The Community (a chat for participants to share with each other)

  • Your dashboard (to track your own progress)

  • The eight first chapters of the accompanying book in audio book format.

Every weekend, a one-hour long course video is uploaded to the app which kicks off the week – and which participants have the whole weekend to watch or listen to before their weekly meeting.

Once a week, ideally on Mondays or Tuesdays, participants have:

  • Either a group coaching meeting in a Pod with their PQ Coach

  • or a private meeting with their PQ Coach,

to share and support you in your learning and progress.

What Clients Have Said:

"No longer does my inner critic have so much airtime in my head - I generally feel happier and more in command of my thoughts, and have learnt a huge amount. I've undertaken the program in a supportive group environment, guided by Helene's brilliant coaching, and would truly recommend it to anyone."
"Very much like the focus on neuroscience and how it all works. The practice is simple to do, so simple it's incredulous that it can actually work, but felt a difference within a few days!"
“Such simple steps that can be integrated into your life, but with startling results."
